The Black Lips heading to South Africa

This November Psych Night and Vans proudly present Atlanta’s beloved sons and world-renowned garage flower-punks – The Black Lips.

After seven acclaimed studio albums and 15 wild years of touring all over the world, including a well-documented tour of the Middle East in 2012, The Black Lips have at long last set their sights on the southern tip of Africa!.

Renowned for their unique and energetic live performances, their signature southern-style of raw garage punk and their wild stage antics, this promises to be a show not to be missed. Taking note of this is acclaimed music authority, NME, who rank the band in the top 100 most influential artists of all time.

The band released their latest album ‘Underneath The Rainbow’ early last year, and recently a 7” split record with the new single ‘Freedom Fries’. Having worked with Patrick Carney, of The Black Keys, and famed producer Mark Ronson on previous albums, The Black Lips are no stranger to the business.

The Black Lips – that is Cole, Jack, Jared and Joe – will be winning audiences over with their engrossing and lewd stage romance on the 5th of November at Carfax, Johannesburg, and on the 7th of November at The Assembly, Cape Town. Capetonians will be treated to an extra ‘secret’ show happening on Sunday the 8th of November – something of a regular feature on Psych Night’s past tours with internationals.

Tickets are selling fast with Cape Town already having sold out of two of its three ticket tiers; so don’t hesitate! Grab your ticket from www.psychnight.com.
Presale tickets go for R260, and it will be R300 at the door.
